2 Ahi tuna steaks

¼ cup sesame seeds

2 Tablespoons black sesame seeds (optional)

¼ cup sesame oil

salt and pepper to taste

2 Tablespoons olive oil

Ponzu Sauce

¼ cup lime juice

¼ cup lemon juice

½ cup soy sauce

1 Tablespoon rice wine vinegar

1. Season the tuna steaks with salt and pepper and rub with sesame oil.

2. Cover the the steaks in sesame seeds. Press the sesame seeds firmly onto the fish. Cover with plastic wrap. Place a plate on top of the fish to act as a light weight. This will help the sesame seeds stick to the ahi during cooking. Refrigerate up to 1 hour.

2. Make ponzu sauce by mixing all the ingredients and adjusting to taste.

3. Heat the olive oil in a pan until shimmering and hot. Sear steaks, 2 minutes on each side. Remove the ahi to a cutting board and slice thinly against the grain. Serve over cooked rice with a side of ponzu dipping sauce.
